Welcome!¶
This week you'll become a particle physicist.
That might sound intimidating, but it's not — you already have everything you need. By Friday you'll have written Python code, worked with a small team on a Belle II project, made plots, and presented your results on a poster.
No prior coding experience required. No physics background assumed. Just curiosity.
What you'll do this week¶
Code in Python¶
Use Jupyter notebooks to load, explore, and plot particle physics data — the same tools professional physicists use every day.
Study two experiments¶
Learn about neutrino oscillations with NOvA/DUNE toy Monte Carlo, then dig into real Belle II data for your team project.
Make real discoveries¶
By Friday your team will have plots, a poster, and a project story to share with the group.
